Every believer has been given spiritual gifts, but not everyone knows how to use them. God designed us to make a difference through our own abilities powered by the Holy Spirit. It's easy to compare yourself to others of feel unsure about where you fit in the big picture. But you weren't created to be anyone else. Whatever gift God has given you, use it to serve others. When you start focusing on these spiritual gifts, your confidence in Him grows. Here are five steps to help you recognize and grown in your spiritual gifts.
Sometimes we overlook our gifts because they feel too natural. Pray, “Lord, open my eyes to what You’ve placed in me.” God delights in revealing your calling, ask, and He will guide you.
Your gifts often show up where your passion and impact intersect. What makes you feel alive when you’re serving? That joy is often a signpost to the gifts God’s wired into your spirit.
It’s tempting to downplay your gifts when you see others doing “bigger” things. The Holy Focus app helps you tune out the noise of comparison and realign with God’s voice. You don’t need to compete, you just need to obey.
Spiritual gifts become clearer through action, not just introspection. Join a ministry, serve your community, or mentor someone, and you’ll often discover your gift while using it. Movement leads to clarity.
I used to think spiritual gifts were only for “really spiritual” people. But God showed me that He uses ordinary people in extraordinary ways, especially when they just show up and say yes. Discovering my gifts gave me clarity and freedom. It’s why I built Holy Focus, to help people uncover what God already planted in them.
Trusted friends and mentors can often see what you can’t. Ask them what strengths they see in you when you’re living for Christ. God uses community to confirm calling.
Focusing on your spiritual gifts is about stepping into the work God has prepared for you. Your gift and calling matter. You were meant to live your own story, full of the Spirit’s love and power. Be curious and be obedient. As you focus on what God’s placed in you, you’ll find more clarity and joy than you ever imagined.
