Recovery is a daily fight, and one that you're not expected to fight alone. Addiction recovery is rarely a straight line. There are good days and bad days. There are days when shame seems to scream louder than hope. But God is still with you. He is not ashamed of you. His grace is still enough. These prayers are for those in their recovery journey or supporting someone who is.
God, the urge is strong. I want to give in. But I also want freedom. Help me hold on. Remind me that this feeling will pass, and that You are stronger than my craving. Amen.
James 4:7 says to resist the devil and he will flee. This prayer is for moments when temptation feels overwhelming.
Lord, I slipped. Again. I feel so ashamed. But I don’t want to stay stuck here. Please meet me with mercy. Remind me that one relapse doesn’t erase all the healing You’ve done. Amen.
Lamentations 3:22–23 says His mercies are new every morning. This prayer offers grace in the middle of setback.
God, I don’t know if I can do this. I’m scared. Please give me courage to take one step, and then another. Help me believe that healing is possible, with You. Amen.
Isaiah 41:10 promises God will strengthen and uphold us. This prayer welcomes His strength into day one.
Lord, I’m tired. Tired of fighting, tired of pretending, tired of starting over. Please carry me today. I don’t have much left, but I still want to heal. Amen.
Matthew 11:28 invites the weary to find rest in Jesus. This prayer gives voice to emotional and physical burnout.
God, I keep running into situations that pull me back into old patterns. Help me see the danger and run from it. Give me the wisdom to set boundaries and the strength to stick to them. Amen.
Proverbs 22:3 says the wise see danger and take refuge. This prayer focuses on awareness and protection.
I haven’t battled addiction firsthand, but I’ve walked closely with people who have. I’ve seen the shame, the struggle, the strength it takes to try again. And I’ve seen how powerful it is when someone finally invites God into that process.

God, I don’t want to admit I’m struggling again. But I know I need support. Help me let go of pride. Give me courage to reach out and be real. Amen.
Galatians 6:2 says to carry each other’s burdens. This prayer is for connection over isolation.
Lord, I’ve tried doing this on my own, and I keep running into walls. Please take over. I surrender this fight, this habit, this healing to You. Amen.
Psalm 55:22 says to cast your cares on the Lord and He will sustain you. This prayer centers on full surrender.
Recovery is about surrender more than willpower. You don’t have to be strong for Him to carry you. What you need most is the courage to keep showing up and being honest with yourself, especially on the hard days. God sees your every step and every tear. He sees you every time you choose freedom instead of escape. Keep walking and keep praying. He’s proud of you.
